Aransas National Wildlife Refuge has very interesting birds. The wild turkey (above right) and spoon billed herons (right) are good, but the star is the Whooping Crane, quite rare and the largest bird in North America. Whooping Cranes (below) are seen only at a great distance or via boat tours. No human guest may enter the whooping cranes habitat.

The Texas Aquarium in Corpus Christi Marcos has some interesting exhibit. The underwater views of dolphins and sea turtles are good. Some of the naturally luminescent jellyfish did not photograph well, but were very interesting when actually seen.

Padre Island National Sea Shore is truly a scenic wonder, and the beaches are dog friendly. Upper right is Marie Orwig and Blaze with Phyllis and Harpo. Roscoe is at the bottom of the picture. Pelican flocks are fun to watch if you catch them there. Bottom picture is The Traveling Morgans with their truck BAT (bad ass truck).

A great place to stay in Rockport is the Raintree RV Park.

The owners work hard to make things better for everyone.
